A Florida woman's night out turned violent when police say she stabbed her male friend with scissors inside an Uber after he told her she could not drink a beer during the ride.
Lynn Marie Zamora, 32, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the incident at a Best Western hotel in Miami on Monday evening. The dispute reportedly began over what started as a simple question about open-container policies inside the rideshare vehicle.
According to an arrest report obtained by Law&Crime, Zamora and her friend had called an Uber to pick them up from the Best Western Plus Kendall Hotel & Suites in Miami. While traveling to another friend's house, Zamora wanted to crack open a beer for the ride. Her companion repeatedly told her that was not allowed, police said.
The friend told investigators he had warned Zamora several times about the prohibition against having alcohol in the vehicle. Uber's terms of service explicitly state that "open containers of alcohol are never allowed while using the Uber Marketplace Platform."
Police said Zamora became irritated after being denied and allegedly reached into her purse to retrieve a pair of scissors, striking her friend twice. The first stab wound hit his biceps; the second penetrated his calf.
The Uber driver immediately pulled over and exited the vehicle to call 911, according to authorities. Both men got out of the car while waiting for police to arrive.

This was not Zamora's first encounter with law enforcement over aggressive behavior. During a court hearing Wednesday covered by local Fox affiliate WSVN, prosecutors revealed that Zamora was already on probation following her conviction for battery on a person aged 65 years or older.
