Christopher Corbi, 42, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault along with misdemeanor assault and weapons charges for shooting Kathryn Runner in an unprovoked road rage incident on a Pennsylvania highway last year.
Under the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped the most serious charge of attempted murder. Corbi is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 29.

Newtown Township police responded around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27, 2025, to a shooting in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Woodbourne Road. Officers found Runner suffering from a gunshot wound to her left wrist.
Runner told Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI that she was driving when she came up on a slow-moving vehicle. She followed several cars that were passing it. As she went around, she saw something shiny in the corner of her eye and then heard her window pop as a bullet struck.
"I had no road rage," Runner said. "I didn't, like, honk at him, I didn't flip him the bird. I didn't do anything to him. What gets me is a lot of cars passed him. What made him choose me?"
After being shot once in the wrist, Runner called 911 and began following Corbi's car to record its license plate number. The driver then made a hard turn onto another road before allegedly firing two more shots at her, one of which struck her again.
"I definitely was screaming at the 911 operator that he's shooting at me," she said.
The Charges
Corbi pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and misdemeanor charges. As part of the deal, prosecutors dropped the attempted murder count. Police located Corbi "within minutes" after receiving the vehicle description and found a gun in his car.
Runner received stitches at the hospital for her injuries.
