A woman was arrested after allegedly brandishing a firearm during an elementary school drop-off in North Carolina, authorities say.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, another driver "supposedly" attempted to run Abrams' vehicle off the road as she exited the school parking lot onto nearby Idlewild Road. When Abrams encountered that same driver again on Idlewild Road, she allegedly retrieved a Charter Arms .38 Special revolver from her glove compartment.
Authorities say Abrams "grabbed" the handgun and "showed it" to the other woman while passing her vehicle. She then placed the weapon on the front passenger seat.

At about 8:15 a.m., officers with the Mint Hill Police Department responded to Idlewild Road in reference to a road rage incident involving a firearm. Investigators learned the initial confrontation took place in the drive-through area of the school just down the road.
According to the affidavit, "before Abrams got out of the car," she "pointed the gun at her own head" so that the other woman could see her as a threat.
Abrams was arrested and booked into the Mecklenburg County Jail on Thursday. She posted a $50,000 bond on Friday and made her first court appearance the same day.
